More than a "Top Layer"
Posted on July 02 2018
Often times I start the day reading Seth Godin’s blog. Yesterday, he published a post about an experience he had at the farmers market:
“There were 100 quarts of strawberries at the farmer’s market yesterday,” he wrote. “The thing is: 90% of the strawberries in a quart are hidden from view. They’re beneath the top layer.”
He went on to say, “There’s no strategy to tell which quart is better than the other, unless you (erroneously) believe that the top layer is an accurate indicator of what lies below.”
The analogy wasn’t lost on him, nor was it lost on me.
Our garments aren’t just a ‘top layer’. Love Over H8 Apparel stands for much more than something you wear. With $5 from every sale going to a cause of your choice, we empower our tribe to choose the change they seek, and the experience doesn’t end there.
Every time you wear LOH8, you are standing for equal rights and tolerance. You’re making a statement that it’s safe to have a conversation outside of your ideologies for the sake of hearing another person out, and perhaps, if you’re like me, more prone to small, kind gestures, because you’re more in tune to the world around you.
Seth says, “The real information comes from experience. If the farmer is the sort of person who won’t put the clinkers on the bottom, she’s earned our trust.”
Go on, put that Kate Dress, in your shopping cart. Give us an opportunity to earn your trust.
With Love Over H8,
